Biography
Monica Alexander is an Assistant Professor joint in the Sociology and Statistical Sciences departments. Her research focuses on developing statistical methods to help measure and understand disparities in health outcomes. She works on methods which combine data from censuses and surveys, with non-traditional data sources, such as social media and administrative records, to understand bias and uncertainty in the measurement of outcomes. She has worked on demographic research with organizations such as UNICEF, the World Health Organization, and the Human Mortality Database.
