Professor Neda Maghbouleh Wins the 2022 Oliver Cromwell Cox Article Award

Congratulations to Neda Maghbouleh who recently received the American Sociological Association (ASA), Section on Racial and Ethnic Minorities, 2022 Oliver Cromwell Cox Article Award for "Ancestry, Color, or Culture? How Whites Racially Classify Others in the U.S." The article, published in the American Journal of Sociology in March 2021, Volume 126, Number 5, was co-authored with Ariela Schachter and René D. Flores. Professor Maghbouleh is the Canada Research Chair in Migration, Race, and Identity and Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Toronto (Mississauga and St. George campuses). Her research interests include race; immigration; refugees; identity; Middle East/North Africa; and Mixed Methods. She was also recently elected as a member of the Council Members-at-Large with the ASA for a three-year term from 2022 – 2025. The awarded article is available on the journal website.
