We’re pleased to announce that Dr. Prentiss Dantzler has been granted tenure and promoted to the role of Associate Professor as of July 1, 2024.
Dr. Dantzler researches urban poverty, neighbourhood change, race and ethnic relations, and housing and community development. His current projects examine housing assistance, homeowners’ associations, and racial capitalism. His research developing the Black Canadian Health Research Database, a collaborative project aimed at addressing the need for race-based data on health in Canada, recently received a 2024 IGNITE grant from the Black Research Network (BRN).
Prentiss Dantzler is Associate Professor of Sociology and holds cross-appointments in the School of Cities and the Infrastructure Institute at the University of Toronto. His work explores racial capitalism, homeowners’ associations and residential exclusion, and the spatial dynamics of housing assistance in the Greater Toronto Area.
