Charles Jones

Professor Emeritus

Professor Charles Jones is currently working on the determinants of occupational and educational attainment, particularly ethnicity/religion, gender, immigration status and language, during Canada’s years of explosive expansion between 1901 and 1921. He is also using the first seven waves of Canada‘s National Longitudinal Survey of Children and Youth (1994-2007) to investigate the causes of school readiness, resilience, health status and the transition to adulthood. Methodologically he is interested in the analysis of complex samples and the use of bootstrap weights. He teaches in the areas of family demography and social mobility.
