Anti-Racism TIDE workshops: Graduate Student Session
When and Where
Description
How to Address and Move Beyond Unconscious Bias
The first workshop will be given by the Toronto Initiative for Diversity & Excellence (TIDE), “a grassroots service group consisting of University of Toronto faculty members from across disciplines with a focus on supporting equity, diversity, and inclusion at the University by providing education and resources about unconscious bias and related challenges in the academic career arc, and providing counsel to academic and staff units and administration about these challenges.” TIDE’s facilitators will create targeted 2-hour workshops for senior faculty and staff, junior faculty and staff, and grad students, which will consist of a presentation and small-group workshopping of real-life scenarios.
Led by Allison Keith (Director, Jackman Humanities Institute and Professor of Classics, FAS) and Maydianne Andrade (Professor, Biological Sciences & Vice-Dean Faculty Affairs & Equity, UTSG)
