Work Stratification and Markets Workshop: Gabe Menard

When and Where

Wednesday, September 18, 2019 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm
Rm 240 Sociology

Description

The Work, Stratification, and Markets workshop seeks to bring together scholars across the department and university working on issues related to the workplace, the economy, or stratification and inequality, broadly defined. We welcome scholars using a range of methodological approaches.

The workshop format will be 40-minute presentations of work in progress, followed by an opportunity for workshop participants to ask questions and provide feedback. Participants will not be expected to read the paper before attending.

One of the main goals in creating this workshop is to build an intellectual community among the many U of T researchers working in this area. Another goal is to give graduate students additional opportunities to present their work in progress, receive feedback, and engage in scholarly conversations in their field(s). With that aim in mind, most of our sessions will feature graduate student presentations.

On the schedule for the fall term:

Wednesday, September 18, 4:15 – 5:45 p.m.: Gabe Menard (presenting on a comparative analysis of network neutrality regulations in the U.S. and U.K.)
